About the gym

A Downey gym built around the eight limbs

Ocho takes its name from the eight points of contact in Muay Thai: two fists, two elbows, two knees, two shins. It is a boutique studio, not a warehouse of machines, which means classes stay small enough that a coach can actually watch you work.

We are on Quinn Street in Downey with heavy bags, a ring, open mat space and a yoga schedule running alongside the striking classes. Whether you want a hard six rounds or a slow hour of mobility, you are training in the same room with the same people.

How we train

What Ocho stands for

Coached, not just supervised

A coach calls your corrections through every round. You leave each class knowing what improved and what you drill next time.

Beginners set the tone

Fundamentals is the busiest class on the schedule for a reason. Nobody here expects you to arrive knowing how to throw a round kick.

Strike hard, recover well

Yoga is on the same schedule as striking because the hips, ankles and shoulders you use in the ring need care to keep working.

One room, all ages

Youth classes, adult fundamentals and technical rounds all share the same mats and the same standard of respect.
